Veggie Heroes

Last June, Jill Yarnall at New Heritage Cooking started a great series of interviews with vegetarians called Veggie Heroes. I'm very honored to have been chosen for her latest installment. So, if you've ever wondered why I became a vegetarian or whether I prefer tofu or tempeh (I bet you can guess), check it out. She even persuaded me to give her a photo that shows most of my face!

While you're there, take a look on Jill's sidebar at the list of her previous Veggie Heroes, people like Nava Atlas, Howard Lyman, and Erik Marcus . Now those are some real heroes! Thanks, Jill, for all of your heroic work.

How cool is that! Loved the interview. ALso - the family and I tried your tofu jambalaya last night and even my picky eater loved it. Thanks for a great recipe - I'll absolutely cook that one again.

Very interesting interview. It must feel good to be a hero! I will need to go back and read all the other interviews now.

Wonderful! You echo my thoughts, that vegan convenience foods are a good thing, since we both used that as a major reason to make the switch.

I have to prefer tofu. Almost impossible to find tempeh here. :(

I doubt I'll ever qualify as a Veggie Hero but I'm giving that approach to eating a one-month trial. I was looking around for recipes and your entry for today seems delicious, Susan. I've never made vegetable stock but this weekend I'll give it a try.
