Blogger's Choice Awards

My site was nominated for Best Food Blog!The Blogger's Choice Awards are going on, and several vegan blogs--including this one--are nominated. Now, I'm not asking you to vote for me (though I never win anything, hint hint!) but you might want to hop on over there and support your favorite blogs. You can actually vote for more than one, so don't feel pressured to vote for poor little old me. {dramatic sigh}

You have to register in order to vote, but once you do, you can nominate other blogs, including your own. A lot of us bloggers nominate our their own blogs. It's really not a pathetic thing to do! Really!

Speaking of nominating, thanks to Domino the Cat for nominating me. Domino, you're the best! Remind me to pick up some organic cat treats for you on the way home. Or maybe some cantaloupe?

Ha! When Domino was a kitten, he was more like a Diablo. But now he's just a big (very big) pussycat!

Ugh. Yours too?

Mine forces me to hold the cantelope while she licks her way through the whole piece with her raspy little tongue. The same goes for strawberries. And watermelon.

Oh, and she used to open the small refrigerator I had in my dorm to snag herself a piece of green-leaf lettuce whenever she pleased (I ended up having to put a latch on the door because, despite being able to open the door and kidnap the lettuce, she never remembered to close it behind her).

I couldn't figure out how to leave a comment on the voting site, so I will here.

Susan, what I appreciate most about your work, other than your imaginative, yummy recipes, is your graceful, literate and sophisticated writing. You're a professional.

LOL I love the picture.

My dog is a vegetarian, because she seems to not be able to digest meat. We don't know much about her puppyhood but she will get lethargic and sometimes ill if she gets into any meats at all....so she eats a vegetarian diet....she loves any fruits and veggies....except leafy greens. She leaves those for the turtle. QT's symptoms are similar in nature to the Lion Little Tykes....though I doubt they share a connection.

I had to comment on this because I just adore seeing pets eat fruits and veggies. So many people are afraid to let their pets have them, and think that animals must only be carnivorous! Here's to another omnivorous or herbivorous animal!
