Susan,
Thank you for your website. You are a wonderful cook! Every recipe I’ve tried from your site has been delicious. Our favorite so far is your recipe for Goldrush Chili. It’s been 90 degrees or more here on days when my husband has asked, “could we please have Goldrush Chili tonight?” I appreciate all of your hard work in the kitchen and your willingness to share your successes with your friends here in cyberspace.

Do you have something on your website, or are you open to ever creating, a vegan baking basics list? I’m trying to “healthify” my baking pantry and it would be nice to have a list of all the baking basics such as flax, cornstarch, turbinado sugar, vegan chocolate chips, oats, enerG egg, etc.? And tips for buying (what to look for on the package that makes it vegan). Thanks!
I wish I had something like that,Viktoria. It’s something that I keep meaning to get to.
When shopping for vegan ingredients, I just check to make sure it doesn’t have any of the obvious animal products (meat, eggs, milk) and some of the less obvious (whey, gelatin, lard). There are lists of animal-derived ingredients available on the internet, like http://www.happycow.net/health-animal-ingredients.html, but I have to warn you that they are very long, filled with technical-sounding names, and potentially discouraging.
